MALT-lymphoma of the stomach, pathomorphological diagnosticsAbstract
On the base of our own observations and literature data it was determined that the distinctive pathologic features of MALT-lymphoma of the stomach is tight diffuse lymphocytic infiltrate in the lamina propria between the reactive lymph follicles and glands of the mucous membrane by centrocyte-like tumor cells of marginal zone, monocytoid B-lymphocytes, small lymphocytes, plasma cells and a single large centroblasts-like or immunoblasts-like cells, the presence of zones "lymphoepithelial lesions" of glands due to infiltration by tumor cell aggregates, and Dutcher bodies in plasma cells. The main immunophenotypic feature of the MALT-lymphoma is the presence of diffuse immun cell infiltration by CD20+, IgM+, IGD-B-cells outside the reactive follicles mantle zone. Immunophenotype of tumor MALT-lymphoma cells is identical to the immunophenotype of marginal zone B-cells, the reaction with antibodies against CD5, CD10 and CD23 is negative. It was described molecular and genetic disorders, histologic evidence of lymphoma varying degrees of malignancy, stages of stomach MALT-lymphoma to select the method of patient’s treatment.
