leptin, metabolic comorbid conditions, cardiovascular risk, the overall mortality, survival, prognosisAbstract
This review discusses the diagnostic and prognostic value of leptin in the assessment of an individual cardiometabolic risk. The article provides information about basic experimental and clinical studies on this topic. Attention is paid to debated questions of relationship between circulating levels of leptin and the magnitude of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in different populations.
